You can have fun with the shapes by using different molds. I love using a ghost mold, but pumpkins and other shapes are also fun! And these smaller molds are great for smaller cups! If you love these, you’ll have to try my Butterfinger Ghosts next!

Ingredients you’ll need to make Homemade Halloween Reeses
- Peanut butter – try sunflower seed butter or granola butter for a nut-free version! You can also use almond or cashew butter.
- Protein powder – this is optional, but adds protein to the recipe to balance things out, while also adding another layer of sweetness and flavor! You can sub almond flour.
- Pantry staples – vanilla extract, sea salt
- Maple Syrup – honey also works great!
- Chocolate Chips – use whatever fits your dietary needs. Dark, milk, and white chocolate all work!
- Coconut Oil (optional, but makes the chocolate coating smooth)

Steps to make homemade halloween reeses
- In a medium bowl, add the chocolate and oil. Heat in the microwave in 30 second increments, stirring between each, until smooth. Add a little chocolate to the bottom of your molds, using a spoon to spread it out. Make sure the entire bottom is covered! Pop in the freezer while you make the fillings.
- In another bowl, combine all the filling ingredients, mixing well.
- Remove the mold from the freezer. Add some cookie dough to each one, packing it down.
- Add the remaining chocolate over top of each filling, covering it entirely. Place the mold back in the freezer for 2-3 hours.
- Carefully remove the ghosts from the molds and store in an air-tight container in the freezer!
Recipe variations
- Almond Butter Cups – swap peanut butter for almond butter (delicious with dark chocolate).
- White Chocolate Cups – sweet and creamy, pairs well with every filling, including fruity ones like raspberry or strawberry jam.
- Pumpkin Spice Cups – mix pumpkin spice seasoning into the filling.
- Pretzel Crunch Cups – add crushed pretzels to the filling for salty crunch.
- Sunflower Seed Butter Cups – a nut-free option with a rich, earthy taste.
Storing Homemade Halloween Reeses
Be sure to store these healthy peanut butter cups in the freezer. I recommend a freezer-friendly bag or container to keep these treats frozen. They’ll last up to 3 months!
