About me

Hi, i’m so happy to have you here! (:
I’m Dani, a Holistic Nutritionist and NASM certified personal trainer from the Seattle area!
Dani’s Healthy Eats began as a way to express my love & passion for all things holistic health & wellness after supporting my significant other through a rare cancer diagnosis and healing from a disordered relationship with food, myself.
I am so, so passionate about the impact living a holistic lifestyle and a nutrient-dense diet can have on disease prevention & thus, help lead to a fulfilling (and fun), long life! I just want people to actually ENJOY foods that will do them good, from the inside out!
I focus on nutrition for healing purposes & create delicious recipes that are not only nourishing for your body but quick & easy to make!
I’m so grateful to have you here – it means the world to me!
My Story
I didn’t always have a great relationship with food. I suffered from a debilitating eating disorder for over 10 years, falling victim to diet culture and struggling with my relationship with myself. During this time, my boyfriend was also diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. I felt like my world was crashing down.
It was during this time that I decided to obtain my holistic nutrition certification. I saw food as medicine and saw how powerful it could be, watching Thomas kick cancer’s butt, and I felt a passion to share that with others. I started creating healthier takes on his favorite treats/desserts, that I would bring to him while he was in the hospital getting chemotherapy treatment. We would enjoy them together, something I deprived myself of for so many years, and that’s when I fell in love with being in the kitchen.
Healing has been a rollercoaster – lots of ups and downs, but I always say it’s made me the warrior I am today and gave me a sense of purpose. Nothing fills my cup more than seeing someone make one of my refined sugar-free cookie recipes for their dad that can’t do sugar or my whole-food take on the classic Cosmic Brownies for their kids. Eating a more whole-food, plant-based diet shouldn’t mean deprivation and should be just as fun!

Health and Wellness

After battling my eating disorder for so many years, I was determined to get my health in check. Obviously, being malnourished for so long can really take a toll on you. During this same time, my boyfriend was healing his body from chemotherapy. We started cooking and baking, using whole-foods, and had so much fun recreating our favorite take-outs and treats.
However, there is so much more that goes into living a “healthy” lifestyle. Your physical and mental well-being are just as important. It took years for me to get to a place where I felt like I truly loved myself, but getting there was a huge pillar in healing my relationship with food, too.
I became a personal trainer with the intention of being able to show others that movement can and should be enjoyable, whatever that may be for you! I think true balance is when you are taking care of your mind, body, and soul, and making sure you don’t go a day without a good laugh!
What you will find on this blog
I wanted to create this blog to be a one-stop-shop of sorts. Whether you’re a busy mom or a college student, I create my recipes to be easy to follow and pretty minimal ingredient, because I’m a firm believer that being in the kitchen shouldn’t have to be complicated.
Whether you’re trying to explore more plant-based recipes or looking to consume more whole-foods, there is something here for everyone – from my own spin on my favorite classics, like cosmic brownies, to easy banana ice cream – nourishing and stress-free!
I don’t follow one specific diet but always try to create my recipes with easy substitutes, so everyone can enjoy them!
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for stopping by! I’d love to be friends. You can find me over on Instagram, TikTok, and Pinterest too!
If you have any questions, ideas, or just need some reassurance, feel free to send me a message!
