Healthier desserts won’t get any easier than this 5 ingredient peanut butter chocolate fudge! Creamy, naturally sweetened, and made with just a few ingredients, it can’t be beat! It’s naturally vegan and gluten, dairy, and refined sugar-free!

Vegan fudge
What I love most about this fudge is how it’s great for any diet. Most fudge is made with sweetened condensed milk or heavy cream, however this recipe is formulated without both! It’s naturally dairy-free vegan, contains no refined sugar, is paleo, and can be made nut-free by swapping the peanut butter for granola butter or sunflower seed butter! Because hey, everyone deserves fudge 😉

Full recipe is in the recipe card at the bottom of the post!
Tools
- Pan – I like to use a small square pan. You can also use a loaf pan. Keep in mind, the larger your pan, the thinner the fudge will be. The smaller the pan, the thicker the pieces will be! You can even use a small tupperware container.
- Mixing bowl
Ingredients
- Peanut butter – if you don’t like peanut butter, feel free to swap in any nut butter (cashew and almond are great!) or use sunflower seed butter or granola butter for a nut-free option!
- Maple syrup or honey
- Coconut oil
- Vanilla extract & sea salt
- Chocolate chips
- Canned coconut milk – full-fat is best. You will just use the solid cream part from the top of the can to create the ganache texture! I love the canned coconut milk from Trader Joes!

Steps to make healthy homemade fudge
- Line a small square pan with parchment paper. Combine all of the ingredients in a small bowl, whisking until well combined.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and place in the freezer for 2-3 hours to allow it to firm up enough to pour the chocolate on top.
- When the fudge is firm, start the chocolate ganache.
- Add chocolate to a heat-safe bowl. Heat in the microwave in 20 second increments, stirring between each, until melted. Alternatively, you can use the double-boiler method.
- Remove bowl from heat, and allow chocolate to cool slightly. Add room temperature coconut cream, and allow mixture to sit for a minute for temperatures to assimilate. Then stir all together until creamy and silky!
- Pour this over the fudge, tilting the pan to spread it out evenly. I like to sprinkle sea salt over top. Place back in the freezer for 2-3 hours until completely set. The longer the better!
- When set, cut into bite sized pieces then store in an air-tight container in the freezer! These melt fast, so be sure to keep them in the freezer!

Recipe variations
- Nutty fudge – stir in some chopped nuts!
- Chocolate chip fudge – stir in whole chocolate chips to the fudge.
- Almond butter fudge – swap almond butter for the peanut butter!
- White chocolate fudge – swap the chocolate chips for white chocolate chips or stir white chocolate chips into the fudge base!
