This 2 ingredient strawberry whipped honey is a summer take on my classic whipped honey recipe. Whipped honey is spreadable creamed honey – pure gold! The tartness of the strawberry powder pairs perfectly with the sweetness of the honey, balancing everything out to make one delicious spread that’s perfect for summer! Use it on pancakes, over yogurt, or spread some on sourdough toast. It comes together in about 20 minutes.

What is whipped honey?
Whipping honey in a mixer incorporates air into its composition, making the honey lighter in color, fluffy, creamy, and a thicker, more spreadable consistency! You may have also heard it referred to as creamed honey, but don’t worry, no cream is involved – It just looks super creamy! This whipped honey recipe can be used for whipped honey butter, whipped honey coffees and lattes, or even whipped honey frosting.
The coolest part is once the honey is whipped, it stays whipped and doesn’t deflate. You can use it on toast, my favorite gluten-free pancakes, dip apples in it, anywhere you’d use honey! Drizzle a little over my breakfast crumble, use it to sweeten blueberry lemon chia pudding, or spread some on a banana coffee cake muffin! This strawberry whipped honey is especially good on peanut butter toast!
Whipped honey also makes a great gift (DIY Christmas or birthday gifts are so fun!). You can store them in little mason jars! I like using 4oz mason jars for smaller, cute gifts but you can also use larger jars, because this stuff goes quick! The color is beautiful, too!
This strawberry version is perfect for summer and to use up all your berries during strawberry season! The tartness of the strawberry powder pairs perfectly with the sweetness of the honey, balancing everything out to make one delicious spread!
Why you’ll love this recipe
- There’s only two ingredients.

- It has the same nutritional value and health benefits as regular honey.
- The honey is not heated so its antioxidants/nutritional benefits are not altered or damaged!

- Literally lasts FOREVER, so you can make a big batch and have it around for a long time!
How to make strawberry whipped honey
Equipment
- Stand Mixer with whisk attachment or electric hand mixer: I love my Kitchenaid, but this is also a cheaper option! You can use a hand mixer, but keep in mind the whipping time will take longer.
- Coffee grinder or blender: You’ll use this to blend the freeze dried strawberries into a powder. I use a coffee grinder as it works great and no lumps remain. I also use my coffee grinder to make oat flour!
- Storing Jar
Ingredients
- Honey: High quality honey is important here as it will not only have the best flavor, but will contain higher antioxidant properties. You can even use crystallized honey. I love getting my honey on Thrive Market, because it’s the best price i’ve seen (You can use my link to get 30% off your first order & a free gift!).
- Freeze dried strawberries: Unlike strawberry whipped butter, fresh strawberries will not work for whipped honey. They would add too much moisture to the honey. Freeze dried strawberries can be found at most grocery stores or on Amazon! The strawberries will need to be blended into a powder form, so if you want to skip this step you can also opt for strawberry powder (however this won’t be found at most stores!).
Steps
- Step 1: Add the honey to the bowl of your stand mixer with the whisk attachment.
- Step 2: Turn the stand mixer onto the highest setting and let it whip for at least 20 minutes. The longer you let it whip, the fluffier it gets. I usually let mine go for 25 minutes.
- Step 3: While the honey is whipping, add the freeze dried strawberries to a coffee grinder or small blender, blending them into a super fine powder. You’ll want to make sure it’s VERY fine and no chunks remain (which is why I highly recommend a coffee grinder!).
- Step 4: Carefully pour the whipped honey into whatever container you’re storing it in. Enjoy!
- After the honey sits for a bit, you may see a foamy layer on top of the honey. This separation is totally normal, just give the honey a good stir before using!

FAQ’s & tips to make the best whipped honey
- How to store leftover whipped honey: Store whipped honey in an air-tight container, like a mason jar. I like to store it in the fridge. It gets SUPER thick and spreadable. However, if you find that to be too thick, you can leave it out on your counter.
- How long does whipped honey last? Real, raw honey has no shelf life, so this honestly could last months, but you’ll plow through it 😉
- Be patient & let it whip long enough! Depending on your mixer, honey used, etc., it may take longer to get super fluffy. I find it does thicken up as it sits in your storage jar as well. I find around the 25 minute mark to be perfect for me!
- Can you make honey with a hand mixer? Yes, but be prepared to be whipping for a WHILE.
- Making a smaller batch: You can make a smaller batch by using 1 cup of honey. This will also cut back on whipping time, taking only about 10 minutes.

Strawberry Whipped Honey
Ingredients
- 24 oz jar of raw, unfiltered honey
- 1/2-1 1.2 oz bag freeze dried strawberries *see notes.
Instructions
- Add the honey to the bowl of your stand mixer with the whisk attachment.
- Turn the stand mixer onto the highest setting and let it whip for at least 20 minutes. The longer you let it whip, the fluffier it gets. Depending on the honey you use and your mixer, it may take less time/need more time. I usually let mine go for 25 minutes. You can't over-whip it, it'll jut get better and better!
- While the honey is whipping, add about 1/2 bag of freeze dried strawberries to a coffee grinder. If you're using a blender, you can add the entire bag. Blend until it forms a SUPER fine powder and NO lumps/clumps remain.
- Once the honey has been whipped for 20-25 minutes and is luscious, frothy, and creamy, add about 1/4-1/3 cup of the strawberry powder, letting it mix in entirely. If the color is too vibrant, i'd add two more tablespoons at a time, letting it mix in. You can taste the honey as well and add more strawberry powder as you'd like. The tartness of the strawberry powder is a great compliment to the sweetness of the honey!
- Carefully pour the whipped honey into whatever container you're storing it in. Enjoy!

Notes
- Start with adding 1/4-1/3 cup of the strawberry powder at first. Taste and then add more as you’d like until it reaches the desired strawberry flavor! This is all up to you!
