Ingredients to make chocolate strawberry yogurt clusters
These viral bites went viral for good reason.. their ease and short, simple ingredients list. All you need are a few staples, you hopefully already have at home!
- Yogurt: It’s important to use a thick yogurt, to ensure the bites come out thick and creamy. Using a thick yogurt will ensure these set up nicely as well. Greek yogurt and coconut yogurt both work great! CocoJune and Culina are my two favorite coconut yogurt brands.
- Coconut Cream: Coconut cream is the solid part at the top of a can of full-fat coconut milk. The cream makes these yogurt bites.. well, creamy!
- You can substitute regular cream or even a dairy-free creamer like NutPods. I wouldn’t substitute a regular milk/dairy-free alternative as they may not set up because of the lack of fat content. I haven’t tested the recipe leaving the cream out all-together, but that may work as well.
- Honey or maple syrup: We use just a touch to sweeten the bites slightly! Either sticky sweetener will work.
- Freeze dried strawberries: One 1.2oz bag of freeze dried strawberries are used for this recipe! I look for a brand that has no other ingredients other than strawberries, with no added sugar. You can buy these on Amazon or most grocery stores like Walmart, Trader Joes, Whole Foods, and Kroger!
- Chocolate chips: I like to use white chocolate with berries – it’s amazing – but you can also use regular chocolate if you’d rather! Bake Believe & Lily’s make great sugar-free options and Pascha makes amazing vegan white chocolate chips!
- Sea salt & vanilla extract

- Small bowl
What molds or pan works best for yogurt clusters?
I highly recommend using a silicone pan or mold as it makes the removal process so easy. These can be difficult and kind of a mess, to try and get out of a metal pan (unless you use cupcake liners!). There are a few options that I love:
- Silicone mini muffin pan
- Bar mold: You can use the rectangle mold to make them in bar shape!
- Ice cube tray

Steps
- Mix together the frozen yogurt mixture: Combine the yogurt, nut butter, sweetener, optional protein, sea salt, and vanilla in a large bowl. Whisk together until smooth, thick, and creamy.
- Divide it amongst your mold: Divide the yogurt mixture amongst your mold, filling each crevice about 2/3 way full.
- Melt the chocolate: In a small bowl, add the coconut oil and chocolate. You can melt the chocolate using the double-boiler method or in the microwave. Microwave in 30 second increments, stirring well between each, until completely smooth.
- Add a little chocolate to the top of each bite, filling that last 1/3 of each crevice.
- Freeze! You’ll want to freeze the bites for 3-4 hours before removing them from the molds. Store in an air-tight container in the freezer.
Flavor Variations
If you love these yogurt bites, I have two other flavors as well! These regular chocolate sea salt yogurt bites and these birthday cake/funfetti yogurt bites!
- Add sprinkles!
- Stir in fresh berries and a sprinkle of granola for a breakfast vibe!
- Stir in chocolate chips, dried berries, raisins, or goji berries, and some nuts for a trail-mix feel!
FAQ’s, tips & tricks
- Do you have to add coconut oil to the chocolate? This helps thin the chocolate out to make topping the bites seamless and less-messy.
- What yogurt makes the creamiest frozen yogurt? You’ll want to use a thick yogurt. Yogurt options with higher-fat content will create the best textured, creamiest bites. I like to use Coconut yogurt, but thick greek yogurt works great as well!
- How long do frozen yogurt bites last? These bites will last in the freezer for a month or two! I like to leave mine out a few minutes before enjoying, as they get creamier!
- Be patient! Make sure you leave the bites in the freezer long enough before trying to remove them from your mold. Trying to remove them before they are set will create a mess and ruin them.
