egg white wraps

There is truly nothing better than a good wrap or burrito; it’s one of those little joys I think we can all agree on. But sometimes the store-bought ones come with a few questionable ingredients and are often pretty high in carbs. And listen… we love carbs. Carbs are our friends. We just also love feeling steady, energized, and balanced, too (which is why blood sugar balance is so important in feeling our best!).

That’s why these wraps are such a win win. They’re a lighter, lower-carb base that still lets us pile on our favorite fix-ins; think beans, thinly sliced sweet potato, whatever carb source your heart is craving. They’re wildly versatile: breakfast burritos, turkey wraps, veggie-packed hummus rolls… I could keep going. 😉 And even though it doesn’t taste like a classic flour tortilla recipe, they’re incredibly satisfying!

And if you’re an egglife lover, you’re going to be obsessed with these. They taste just as good, come together in minutes, and cost way less than grabbing a pack at the store. Plus, no weird additives, no xanthan gum, and no flour of any kind (not even oat or almond). Comment below what you load yours up with!

Why you’ll love these low carb tortillas

  • Easy to make: all you need is 1 ingredient and about 10 minutes for the egg white wraps to come together.
  • Versatile: You can use them with any meal, but you can also add in different seasonings to create a new flavor each time you make them.
  • Diet-friendly: They’re dairy-free, gluten-free, keto, paleo, and Whole30-approved.

Homemade Egg White Wraps (high protein, low carb)

Easy egg white wraps are a low carb, high protein wrap substitute for any of your favorite wrap fix-ins! They're baked in the oven, so no messy pans or flipping, and can be customized with different flavors and seasonings and are a great keto, grain-free, gluten-free, dairy-free wrap option!
Prep Time 10 minutes
Servings 1

Ingredients

  • 1 cup carton egg whites
  • seasonings of choice, to taste *I like salt, pepper, garlic powder, etc.

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400F.
  • Add the egg whites to the bowl of your stand mixer. Alternatively, you can add them to a bowl and use a hand mixer! Just ensure either way, that the bowl is free from oils as this can prevent the egg whites from whipping to stiff peaks.
  • Whip the egg whites until they're super thick and frothy and formed stiff peaks. This should take just a few minutes in a stand mixer. Add any seasonings you'd like and whip a few seconds more.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper AND spray it with oil (i find this is the best way to keep it from sticking). Spread the egg white mixture over top, spreading it out into a rectangle. It's okay if it looks really thick as it'll deflate once it cools.
  • Place in the oven and cook for 10 minutes. The top may look and feel crispy – that's normal! Remove it from the oven and let cool completely. It'll soften as it cools.
  • Once cool, add your favorite toppings, wrap it up, and enjoy!
