How to make homemade KIND frozen treat bars
The full recipe is in the recipe card at the bottom of the post! Here is an overview.
ingredients
- Yogurt – This is the base of the “ice cream-like” layer. Coconut yogurt or greek yogurt both work great, however make sure you choose an option that is super thick! Runny yogurt won’t work as well.
- Cashew or almond butter – if you love peanuts, you can also use peanut butter!
- Maple syrup or honey
- Chocolate chips – feel free to use dark chocolate, milk chocolate, or white chocolate. Dark chocolate has the most antioxidants/health benefits, however milk chocolate is delicious. Hu Kitchen makes a grass-fed milk chocolate bar with high quality ingredients and no refined sugar!
- Raw cashews or peanuts – this adds that famous crunch to the bars!
- Pantry staples: vanilla extract, sea salt
Steps
- In a small bowl, combine the chocolate chips and oil. Heat in 30 second increments, stirring well between each, until smooth. Add a little to the bottom of the molds, being sure to cover most of the bottom & bring it up the sides as well. Place the mold in the freezer while you create the base.
- In a blender, combine all of the ingredients. Blend until smooth. Taste & adjust as you’d like (more sweetener, salt, vanilla, etc).
- Once the chocolate layer has hardened, remove it from the freezer. Add some of the “ice ceam” mixture to each crevice, spreading it out evenly. It should fill each crevice 2/3 of the way full.
- In a small bowl, mix together all of the caramel ingredients until smooth. Stir in the nuts last. Spread a little over the center of each bar. Drizzle some chocolate over top of each. Then place back in the freezer for a few hours until firm.
- Once firm, remove the bars from the mold and move to an air-tight container to store in the freezer longer term. Let thaw 5 or so minutes prior to eating for the creamiest texture!

Recipe variations
- Have fun with mix-ins! Use different chopped nuts, dried fruit, coconut flakes, etc! These can be stirred into the yogurt base or the caramel!
- Switch up the chocolate – try a white chocolate version!
- Use different nut and seed butters for different flavors.

Kind bars are made with almond milk, that IS plant based. You are calling this a plant based Kind bar clone but you are making it with greek yogurt.
Hi Sharon! They’re frozen bars that can be made with dairy-free coconut yogurt (what i used) OR greek yogurt. I try to include options for anyone with any dietary needs/preferences! (:
