Ingredients to make banana split bites
Bananas
Chocolate: I highly recommend using a high quality chocolate, but feel free to use whatever you love! I love Hu kitchen, as they make refined sugar free chocolate but you’d NEVER guess it. They have both vegan dark chocolate and milk chocolate (from grass-fed dairy) options. You can use code danishealthyeats for a discount!
Sprinkles: I always try and find sprinkles that are colored with natural sources. Whole Foods carries a great option. Here is another one!
Whipped cream: I used a homemade cashew cream here (because my store was out of coconut whipped topping). However, you can use your favorite cool whip, whipped topping, etc. I love the brand SoDelicious for a dairy-free option with quality ingredients!
Chopped nuts: Totally optional, but chopped nuts are one of my favorite banana split toppings and pair so well with the chocolate and banana.
Cherries: Banana splits are never complete without a cherry on top! They also make the banana bites so much cuter 😉
How to make frozen banana split bites
- Cut your banana into smaller slices.
- Melt the chocolate until smooth. Add the sprinkles to a shallow dish. Do the same with the chopped nuts.
- Dip the banana splice into the chocolate. Immediately roll it into the sprinkles OR nuts.
- Place on a lined cookie sheet.
- Add a little whipped topping to the top of each one & place a cherry on top.
- Place the bites in the freezer until ready to serve (it’s okay to freeze it with the whip, it’ll keep them sturdier when you go to serve).
Storing & serving tips
These are best served same-day although you can store them in an air-tight container and let them thaw a bit before serving.

Frozen Banana split bites
Ingredients
- 1-2 large bananas
- 1 1/4 cups chocolate chips
- sprinkles
- chopped nuts
- whipped topping, of choice
- Cherries *enough for each bite
Instructions
- Slice your banana into slices a few inches long. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
- Melt the chocolate until smooth. Add some sprinkles to a shallow dish. Do the same with some chopped nuts.
- Dip the bottom of the banana slices into the melted chocolate and then immediately roll in the sprinkles or the nuts.
- Place on the cookie sheet. Add a little whipped topping (the spray kind works easiest here). And top with a cherry. It's good to add the whip before freezing them as it'll hold up better when you go to serve rather than melting and falling all over the bites.
- Place the pan in the freezer for at least 2 hours or until ready to serve! Enjoy!
