A healthy aging smoothie.

Okay, you guys know I love to nerd out on everything nutrition. I like to keep things simple and don’t add too many “extras” (as in “superfood” powders, etc.) to my diet, because I don’t want to over-complicate things. BUT, there are a few exceptions, that I definitely think are worth the hype of keeping in my wellness routine/diet.

First of all, I just have to take a moment of appreciation for this smoothie, because making aesthetic smoothies are not my forte LOL. But this one.. she was a beaut. Packed with protein, fiber, brain-loving bluebs, and my newest obsession – Timeline Mitopure powder. If you’re a fan of anything related to healthy aging, you’ll be obsessed.

After Thomas cancer battle, I became so, so obsessed with health at a cellular level. It’s wild. Sandwich that with my love for the science on healthy aging, you’ll understand in a second why I love the Mitopure powder so much.

SO, HOW DOES Timeline Nutrition WORK?

Okay.. to sum up a bunch of science in simpler terms.. Mitochondria are highly dynamic organelles – small cellular structures that perform specific functions within a cell. Their task is to generate energy for the innumerable processes taking place inside your cells, which is why they are known as the “powerhouse” of the cell.

Over time and with a sedentary lifestyle, our cells experience a natural decline in mitochondrial function, which essentially speeds up our aging process. BUT, there are things we can do to help boost our mitochondria (think exercise, healthy diet). Our cells work to protect themselves by recycling old/damaged mitochondria into new, healthy ones.

So, what does Mitopure have to do with any of this? The process I just described is known as mitophagy, which becomes less efficient as we age. Well, Mitopure is a known mitophagy inducer. It contains Urolithin A, which in their words, “is a natural metabolite that comes from certain foods that include pomegranates as well as several types of nuts and berries. Urolithin A allows our cells to protect themselves from one of the main causes of aging by stimulating mitophagy, a naturally occurring process in our cells that gets less efficient with age.” So by simply adding Mitopure into your diet, you’re boosting the health of your mitochondria!  WHY I LOVE THE CONVENIENCE:

Mitopure comes in a little packet that you can easily throw into smoothies, chia puddings, or even just add it to water. I also love adding it to my no-bake energy balls, pancakes, anything really! The taste is amazing, which is something that I am always skeptical about. But it has some sweetness to it from the pomegranate that I just love. I love that I can add it to fruity smoothies, but chocolate protein shakes too – it has one of those flavor profiles that really mixes well with everything!

And the small individual packets make them easy for traveling too, so you don’t have to miss a day! Easily throw them in your bag, car, wherever, and you’ll always be good to go. An easy way to help promote cell health and healthy aging.. I couldn’t recommend them more!
