3 Ingredient Berry Frozen Yogurt is the easiest, most refreshing treat! This budget-friendly frozen dessert is perfect for summertime or any time you’re craving a refreshing treat! No ice cream machine is required, however I love making mine in the Ninja Creami! In just a few minutes, you’ll have delicious froyo with minimal effort.

3 ingredient frozen yogurt
Frozen yogurt has quickly become one of my go-to healthy treats, but getting that dreamy, scoopable froyo texture at home can feel like a bit of a magic trick. If your base has too much water, you can end up with an icy block instead of that soft, creamy swirl we’re going for. That’s why I always reach for full-fat Greek or Coconut yogurt—it’s thick, rich, and there’s no extra water trying to sabotage your dessert. Paired with frozen berries and honey, everything stays silky and smooth, helping prevent those stubborn ice crystals from forming.
And don’t skip the vanilla extract! That’s what makes it taste like classic frozen yogurt! The best part is that this recipe is super budget-friendly and endlessly customizable. Grab your favorite toppings (chocolate chips, candy pieces, or fun add-ins you have in the pantry) and have fun!
Why You’ll Love This Healthy Berry Frozen Yogurt

How to Make 3-Ingredient Berry Frozen Yogurt
Choose the method that works best for your equipment and texture preference.
1. Ninja Creami Method (Ultra-Creamy)
This is the creamiest, most ice-cream-like option.
- Blend berries, yogurt, and sweetener until smooth.
- Pour into a Ninja Creami pint and freeze for 24 hours.
- Spin on Lite Ice Cream or Smoothie Bowl setting.
- If crumbly, add 1–2 tablespoons yogurt and respin.
2. Blend-and-Freeze Method (No Special Equipment)
- Blend all ingredients until smooth.
- Pour into an ice cube tray.
- Freeze overnight.
- When ready to eat, Thaw 15-20 minutes. Then add to a blender with a splash of milk. Blend until smooth & creamy!

Cottage cheese protein ice cream
Cottage cheese is having its moment, and honestly, people are blending it into just about everything. If you want a creamy, high-protein twist without the tang of yogurt, it makes an awesome swap. I like replacing half of the yogurt with cottage cheese, but you can go all-in and use only cottage cheese if that’s what you’re feeling!
Recipe Variations
- Make it higher protein: add a scoop of your favorite vanilla or berry protein powder! I love Macro Mike vanilla buttercream (you can use code “amb-dani” for a discount!)
- Mixed Berry: combine blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, blackberries
- Creamier Texture: add 1–2 tablespoons cashew or almond butter
- Waffle cone: serve it in your favorite ice cream cone or waffle cone!
Tips for the Best 3 ingredient berry frozen yogurt
- For dairy-free froyo, choose a thick coconut yogurt.
- Add a splash of milk only if your blender struggles.
- Add a squeeze of lemon juice to brighten flavors.
Frozen yogurt topping ideas
- Simple Mills Sweet Thins, Simple Mills Cookies, or graham crackers!
- Oatmeal crumble: it’ll give a berry crisp vibe!
- Chopped nuts or chocolate chips
- Candies, of choice
- Coconut whipped topping or whipped cream
How to Store
If using Ninja Creami: Store in the creami pints in the freezer. When ready to eat, process it on the machine!
If you used the blender method: Store the cubes in an airtight freezer-safe container for up to 3 months.
Let thaw on the counter for 10–15 minutes before blending for the best consistency.

3-Ingredient Berry Frozen Yogurt
Ingredients
- 1 cup frozen berries
- 3-4 tbsp honey or maple syrup
- 2 cups thick Greek or coconut yogurt, unsweetened *higher fat is best*
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Optional ingredients
- 2 tbsp cashew or almond butter
Instructions
- In a blender, combine all ingredients and blend until smooth. Taste the mixture — you can add extra sweetener if you’d like!
Ninja creami method
- Pour into your ninja creami pint & freeze overnight or until ready to eat.
- When ready to make it, leave it out on the counter for 20 minutes. This helps it thaw a bit and makes it easier blend. Blend on “frozen yogurt” for a cycle. Add a splash of milk and re-blend on the same setting. If needed, you can do it once more.
- Add a drizzle of peanut butter and crushed nuts & enjoy!
Blend & freeze method:
- Pour the blended mixture into an ice cube tray and freeze.
- When ready to eat, let the cubes sit out at room temp for 20 mimutes. Then add the cubes to a high powered blender with a splash of milk (preferably one that has a tamper so you can press it into the blades).
- Blend, stopping to scrape down the sides as needed, until super creamy & thick. Top with toppings & enjoy!
