Healthier Chocolate Sauce
If you've never made homemade chocolate sauce (hot fudge) before, you're in for a treat. This Healthy Vegan Hot Fudge Sauce is rich, glossy, intensely chocolatey, and every bit as decadent as the classic version, without the heavy cream, butter, corn syrup, or refined sugar! Win, win! ;)
- 1 cup water
- 3/4 cup coconut sugar
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- good pinch sea salt
- 1/3 cup cacao powder
Combine all of the ingredients in a sauce pan on medium/low heat.
Whisk constantly, bringing the chocolate mixture to a simmer.
Simmer for 5-10 minutes, until the mixture thickens slightly and no lumps remain. Remove from the heat and allow to cool.
Pour into a container with a lid. Serve over anything you'd like!
