These sweet potato Salmon dog treats are so easy to make and the perfect healthy treat for your fur babes! Most dog treats are either incredibly expensive or full of nasty ingredients, additives, and preservatives. So when I have the time, I love opting to make our babes homemade ones!

Just recently, i’ve gotten more into creating my own dog treats from home. They’re not only cost-effective but I love having total control over the ingredients going into them. My smaller dog is incredibly picky when it comes to treats, but these guys are a WINNER. She was absolutely obsessed. They don’t take much time at all, include only 3 ingredients, & are great even for the older pups as they’re a soft texture. They’re a keeper in our house!

What do you need to make the sweet potato salmon dog treats?

2 small or 1 large can wild salmon
2 small sweet potatoes
1 egg
3-4 tbsp Coconut Flour

How do you make the sweet potato salmon dog treats?

  1. Poke a couple holes in your sweet potatoes & microwave for about 5 minutes or until soft.
  2. Place sweet potatoes, egg, & salmon in a blender & blend until well combined. Slowly add coconut flour 1 Tbsp at a time, until a thicker, dough-like consistency forms.
  3. You can go ahead & fill cupcake liners, bake it like a meatloaf in a bread tin, or fill little silicone molds as I did.
  4. Bake at 375 for around 30 minutes. Your time may vary. I removed mine when the top was golden brown (& they probably could have used a couple more minutes).
  5. Let your babies devour!

Can you use other ingredients besides salmon and sweet potatoes?

I haven’t experimented with subbing the sweet potatoes for anything, however, I know pumpkin is great for dogs and their digestion! So you could try subbing half pumpkin. Dogs obviously aren’t overly picky, so you can play around with the recipe and add more coconut flour as needed!

For a salmon sub, try canned chicken!
